Patriarchy is the ideology that has governed human societies since the advent of the agricultural way of life some 10,000 years ago. Briefly put, patriarchy proposes that men are superior to women in ways that make them better qualified to govern societies.
Fem-Men-Ism (FMI) opposes that assumption and demands an egalitarian relationship between women and men. In this work we begin with a description of life in ancient Hunter Gatherer (HG) societies. That is followed by an explanation of the reasons for the emergence of patriarchy as Hunter Gatherer societies were replaced by agriculture (Neolithic Revolution). Three phenomena arose simultaneously in agricultural societies; the subjugation of women, warfare, and stratified societies dominated by a small minority of men. Together these are the hallmarks of patriarchy.
Based on years of clinical experience working with women and men and based on psychological research I present an analysis of the psychologically damaging impact of patriarchy on women, on men and on the relationships between women and men.
I have also developed and will present a theory of gender that demands an egalitarian relationship between woman men.
